Psi Chi:  The National Honor Society in Psychology

Membership Information

Minimum qualifications for active student membership in Psi Chi:

  • Completion of at least three semesters of college
  • Required Course Work - 9 credits total in either:
    • Completion of three 200-level psychology courses or
    • General Psychology I and II (PSYC 132 and 135) and an additional 200 level course
  • Undergraduates:
    • Cumulative overall GPA of 3.00 and rank in the upper 35% of their class in general scholarship
  • Graduates:
    • Average grade of "B" or better in ALL graduate courses
  • Two-thirds affirmative vote of those present at a regular meeting of the chapter

 

To apply for membership in Psi Chi, please do the following:

1. Fill out a paper application. Make sure this includes an unofficial copy of your current transcript (available through PeopleSoft).

Application packets can be obtained from the psychology mailroom or downloaded here

2. A one-time membership fee of $50.00 ($35 for the national organization, and $15.00 for the UConn Chapter).

Please make out all checks to "UCONN Psi Chi." These are to be given to Linda Ferrell in the main office of the psychology building.

3. Drop off application packets and transcripts in the Psi Chi Mailbox, located in the BOUS mailroom, by the application deadline.
