Following is short list of resources available and linked to from the Psychology Department Home page :
Psychology Department Computer Policy
Psychology Work Request Page ID (EMail address) and Password REQUIRED. We rely upon this system to schedule work on a daily, weekly, monthly basis. Put simply, if a request is done orally in the corridor, by phone, or even via EMAIL, it has a higher probability of falling through the cracks, especially if there is no follow-up request on our work request system.
Psychology Room Reservation Page ID and Password REQUIRED The Workorder/Room signout/Audio-Visual signout have been integrated with the Participant Pool. If you are a graduate student, staff, or faculty member within Psychology your Participant Pool ID and password will be extended to this service as well. Experimenters will eventually be able to schedule far more rooms within our facilities directly.
Psychology Audio-Visual Reservation Page ID and Password REQUIRED The Workorder/Room signout/Audio-Visual signout have been integrated with the Participant Pool. If you are a graduate student, staff, or faculty member within Psychology your Participant Pool ID and password will be extended to this service as well. Experimenters will eventually be able to schedule far more rooms within our facilities directly.
Following is short list of resources available elsewhere on Campus:
For security related information This is especially good for information on system configurations and viruses and Netregistration (Netreg).
For information on software available at UConn and associated cost.
Additional notes...
The projection system in room 160 is attached to a TOUCH SCREEN. If moving the mouse or hitting a couple of keys doesn't appear to wake the system up, touch the screen and see if the rest of the system is powered on.
Rooms 109 and 162 are setup with projectors ONLY. Personal laptops or one of the Department laptops must be used. The long cables needed to connect computers to these systems must not be removed or disconnected. They are designed to work with these systems ONLY and can not be used elsewhere.
PLEASE, remember to turn the projectors in rooms 109, 160, and 162 OFF after your presentations. Replacement bulbs cost ~$500 EACH and we do not have spares available. These rooms are also equipped with self-locking doors to protect the projectors from theft or vandalism. Please make sure that the doors are NOT propped open when leaving.
The cards provided to all faculty, staff, and students for access to our facilities identify each individual specifically as they are used. Please contact us as soon as a card is noticed missing. The cards are easily disabled to prevent further use until returned. The front office will provide an appropriate temporary replacement and the potential for abuse will be diminished substantially.
Wireless: Both 802.11b and 802.11g are available. WEP password is (signout) on Mac's with only 802.11b cards or (0215a450d4) on PC's or Mac's with 802.11b/g cards (Hexidecimal). This can and will change. Note that we do not have 100% coverage at this point, so some areas may not get adequate signal strength for use. Please do NOT contact UITS or any other department outside Psychology for information or assistance with wireless access within the Bousfield Building.
